Feast of St Angela Mass

It was wonderful to come together as a community this week to celebrate the Feast Day of our patron St Angela with Mass taking place at Scared Heart Church.

Our Student Leadership team were also commissioned at their Year 12 Mass, we are very excited for them to get to work on their plans for our school.

Student-led assemblies also took place across all year groups. It was fantastic to see students displaying leadership skills, sharing in St Angela’s legacy, and informing their peers of ways in which we can all strive to follow in her footsteps. St Angela was a remarkable person, she demonstrated the importance of serving others, growing spiritually, and leading for justice, among many other things.

Considering the current state of our world, leading for justice is not only the right thing to do, but also vitally necessary.

Students advised that we can all lead for justice by;

  • Practicing Justice in our daily interactions – Stand up to bullies

  • Advocating for Change – Write letters or sign petitions about issues that you think are important

  • Supporting the Marginalised – Volunteer locally at a foodbank or shelter

  • Reflecting on Faith and Values – Organise prayer groups to reflect on Gospel teachings about fairness and dignity
