Uniform Policy

New government legislation requires all schools to carefully consider cost of uniform and limit branded items to ensure affordability. As a consequence, we will be limiting our branded items to: the school blazer, the school skirt/trousers and the PE shirt which will continue to be available via our uniform supplier. All other items will be able to be purchased from high street or online retailers.

The introduction of the new uniform will apply to Year 7 students 2026-7 in the first instance.

Students moving into Years 8–11 may continue to wear the existing uniform, and there is no expectation that families replace items that are still in good condition. Our uniform supplier currently holds a good stock of the existing uniform, ensuring that replacement items remain available. In addition, the UPA has a substantial supply of pre-loved uniform, offering a cost-effective and sustainable option for families. Parents/carers are, of course, welcome to purchase items from the new uniform range and make the transition at a pace that suits them. We encourage families to move to the new uniform as and when items need replacing, rather than incurring unnecessary expense.

We would also like to remind parents that all students are expected to bring a suitable rucksack to school each day. Students are required to carry their school laptop safely, along with books and other equipment. Handbags, fashion bags and similar items are not suitable for this purpose and do not meet our expectations. Students who bring handbags to school will be asked to hand them in and they will be confiscated until collected in line with school procedures.
