Mancala In Maths

This week our Year 7 students have been celebrating Black History Month in maths!

Our theme this year is Black and Proud and we've been connecting cultures from around the world in the spirit of Insieme. Here are Veyasha, Ashley, Isabella, Dora learning to play mancala, a game with African origin that requires strategy and quick arithmetic skills. The family of mancala games is also being used to contribute to Artificial Intelligence research
