Chaplaincy Update

The new year began with a well attended school Mass celebrated by Fr Ben of St Cecilia’s, North Cheam, marking our return after Epiphany. In January we gathered at Sacred Heart Church for our St Angela Masses, where a newly commissioned portrait of St Angela, painted by Renoshi Carol from the English Department, was blessed. February saw Year 8 students take part in form retreats reflecting on new life, vocation and mission.

Throughout Lent the school entered a full spiritual programme including Messengers of Love, Eucharistic Adoration, charity initiatives and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Staff attended the Ursuline Conference at St Ursula’s Convent School, which focused on artificial intelligence and its impact on schools. The conference explored practical applications of AI, alongside important considerations around safeguarding and its wider moral and ethical implications. We concluded the term with our Passion Services, Pilgrims of Love: Mission to the Cross, reflecting on Christ’s saving mission and our call to follow him in faithful service. Students and staff were invited to deepen prayer, practise compassion and grow in understanding of our Ursuline heritage and Catholic identity together within the wider Church community.
