World Mental Health Day

On Thursday 10th October World Mental Health Day (Thursday 10th October), and to showcase its importance we want to share how at Ursuline High school, we understand that young women need to have the best view of themselves and the world around them to succeed, and firmly believe that academic success should not compromise personal development and well-being.

So, we fulfil our school values not just through our curriculum but through our outstanding personal development and well-being programme – designed with the needs of girls at its heart. This is essential if we are to deliver against our mission to develop students to be people of action who can make a difference in the school and beyond, who are kind, forgiving, generous of spirit and persevering.

We really do care for each and every one of our students and our Well-being and PHSEC Programme - at the forefront of our curriculum - empowers our students to understand potential risks around them and to safeguard themselves, and each other, and to prepare them to make informed and safe decisions on relationships, online safety, health and well-being in an ever-changing world.

When parents ask us for one piece of advice while researching secondary schools, our answer is always to explore the schools’ personal development and well-being provision and understand how it is embedded in the curriculum. We truly believe you cannot have real academic success AND strong personal wellbeing without this.

Thanks to our parents/carers, extended family, our staff and wider community for all they do to support each other and our students.
