DofE Success

On Friday 9th May, three Ursuline Sixth Form Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Participants, accompanied by staff and proud family members, attended a prestigious celebration at Buckingham Palace to celebrate their achievement and collect their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The event recognised the remarkable commitment, resilience, and leadership demonstrated by young people who have completed the Gold level of the nationally respected Duke of Edinburgh Programme.

The Ursuline High students joined hundreds of other Gold Award holders from across the UK for the special occasion, held in the iconic gardens of the Palace. The event also featured keynote speeches by The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, and Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE as well as appearances by celebrity ambassadors of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. It was a day of celebration of their hard work and commitment that will set them in good stead as they embark on their lives after school.

Jacob Tyler, Duke of Edinburgh lead at Ursuline High said “Completing a Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award is a huge achievement. These students have shown resilience and determination through the effort they have put in to developing skills, sporting endeavours, and volunteering over the past two years. They have also completed the demanding expedition and spent time meeting other young people on a residential, where they have further developed themselves as young leaders. This is a very proud moment for the school and I hope that celebrating the achievement of these students inspires those in younger years to get involved with the DofE."

Congratulations All!
