Adoremus Youth Congress

Niamh and I went to the Adoremus youth congress where we gained a deeper insight on religion and how religion is important for the younger generation.

Throughout the day we listened to talks about people's different experiences with their faith and God. It was quite entertaining as well as enlightening. Three main quotes from the event stayed with me and I believe they are truly motivational and unforgettable.

"You're not living life if you don't leave a mark in someone else's.."

No matter who you are or where you come from any action in life can leave a positive mark on someone else's whether it is giving up your time or smiling at a stranger that could be having a rough day.

"I forgive sinners.."

Jesus forgives sinners because he loves us. That was a key focus of the day; Jesus loves you and Jesus wants you. As humans we sin and he died on the cross for our sins because we are loved.

"I give people strength to carry on when they admit defeat.."

This touched me as an A level student as the workload is not easy and students always admit defeat but then give in an hour later. We never give up and that is Jesus' way of giving us strength to carry on when we admit defeat. This event was focused on the youth but many lessons were learnt that could be taken on to our future: you are loved, you are wanted, you'll always be forgiven for your mess because you are human and being defeated is never an option for Jesus is your best friend, guide and leader. You'll always have the strength to carry on.

These three quotes from the event opened my eyes to the power of religion and the impact our generation could have on religion if we truly choose to say yes to Jesus.
