National Physical Laboratory

On Tuesday the Y12 Physics A level students visited the National Physical Laboratory, which studies the science of measurements, and is in charge of maintaining all the standard measurements in the UK.

The students took part in a demonstration with liquid nitrogen, had a talk with Scientists that work at NPL, and got to ask them questions, and finally had a go at figuring out all the different ways you could measure a cat! The students had a great time interacting with young professionals in the science field, as well as learning about the science discoveries of tomorrow.
