Feast of St Blaise

Ahead of the Feast of St Blaise, Ursuline High School conducted a service for the choir where we asked the intercession of St Blaise (the patron of sicknesses of the throat) to protect and keep their throats healthy for singing.  

During the liturgy the choir partook in the traditional ceremony of the blessing of throats in which two candles were placed across their throat whilst the intercession of St Blaise was prayed over them.

It was also a chance to acknowledge the crucial role the choir play in enhancing our sung liturgies and to encourage them to keep finding their voice and Serviam in their gift of singing.
