The MUN gives students the chance to learn about the United Nations and to understand how different countries will see particular issues and how committee meetings work to allow countries to come to agreements about some of the key issues of our time. The students were each made a delegate for a different country and then put on a committee to look at a certain topic (eg they might be the representative for Pakistan on a committee with other delegates looking at the human rights implications of the right to education and movement in the Covid era). They prepared for the conference by meeting together weekly with one of the LSE MUN leaders from December up to the conference.
