It is with great sadness that we share with the Ursuline Community the death of Dr Neil Calvert on Thursday 15th December 2022 following a short illness.

Dr Calvert was a staff member at Ursuline for 27 years. He was appointed Head of Chemistry  in September 1997,  became Deputy Head in 1998 and Headteacher in 1999.

Dr Calvert was an erudite man of wisdom and virtue. He was very much committed to the Ursuline ethos. He had a wonderful sense of humour and took everything in his stride. He had a reassuring and affirming manner which very much supported the professional development of the staff.

Dr Calvert was the first lay Headteacher of the Ursuline having served under Sr Anne Beynon, Sr Mary Baptist and  Sr Armida Veglio.

Our deepest sympathy go to his wife Liz, his children Eleanor, Anthony, Matthew and Joanne and to his grandchildren and extended family.

May he rest in peace.
