Chaplain Message

We have had a brilliant and busy Advent at the Ursuline, from Advent services and reconciliation services to Christmas fairs and Christmas jumper days. We have thought and prayed about the true meaning of Christmas as well as living it out through our fundraising efforts.

Throughout advent, we have managed raise money an amazing about of money in many different ways;

• The Christmas fares raised a total of £3,069.49!
• Our year 7 Christmas jumper day raised £127.60
• Our Joint Carol service raised £558.60
• And we sent 300 Christmas gifts and 16 hampers to Catholic Children’s Society

In our Christmas assemblies we focused on Mary’s encounter with the angel and how her saying Yes to God changed the world.

As we come towards the season of Christmas, let us think about Mary and how she quite literally delivered the Word of God for all Christians around the world, through her son Jesus. In our lives today, we have so much delivered - whether that is online shopping or food deliveries, these all add to consumerist lifestyle, however what Mary was delivering was a message of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. This is the message we need to share with one another this Christmas season: that Jesus is our light and salvation.

I would like to take this time to wish you all a happy and Holy Christmas.
