Earth Day 2020

22nd April 2020 marked 50 years of Earth Day, with the theme of 'Climate Action'.

To mark the day, students reflected on what 'we' need to do to #protectourplanet, exploring the impact of ‘lockdown’ & social distancing on the environment & thinking about the climate actions changes they can make in their own lives!

Ms Murphy also encouraged students to get creative; running a photography competition for all students and staff! Entries could be submitted on following topics below (all photos had to be taken in the home or garden).

Year 7-8 Category: 'Wildlife'- A study of any non-human animal found in home or garden.

Year 9-10 Category: 'Footprint'- The impact humans have on the environment.

Year 11-13 Category: 'Life Against the Odds'- The triumph of life overcoming challenges.

Staff Category: 'Creation'- The beauty of our planet.

The competition proved very popular, with over 317 entries! As you can imagine- it was very difficult to choose the winners!
